Imaging - Clinicians

The MRI unit is a 1.5T Magnetom Avanto. In addition to the normal specification of brain, spine and body coils we have purchased a number of specialist coils to allow us to tailor the scans to your needs. We have also acquired a dual head contrast power injector. The CT is a Somatom Sensation 64 slice scanner. This will allow us to scan the whole body in sub millimetre sections in a matter of seconds. Again, we have included the latest dual head contrast power injector permitting us to perform high resolution angiographic studies. Ultrasound is being equipped with an ACUSON X300 machine. The ACUSON X300 Premium Edition (PE) has been launched by Siemens to join the expanding range of digital ultrasound solutions.This new device offers superior image quality, advanced features for a wide range of clinical applications and is a future proof platform for further upgrades. The ACUSON X300 PE system delivers excellent image quality for a confident diagnosis. It is engineered for use across a variety of applications including cardiac, intracardiac echo, obstetrics, gynaecology, vascular and breast imaging.

The X-ray room has a height adjustable floating top table and a separate vertical stand. The images are digitally acquired and sent to high resolution monitors via our PACS for reporting. The PACS system also allows us to push the images from all modalities to PCs in the consulting rooms.

We also have two state of the art Siemens multi modality workstations, which allow the Radiologists a wide range of options for post processing of the images.

We recognise doctors work in teams and that many of our referring doctors prefer a specific radiologist to provide their reports. We are happy for any radiologist who is an NHS consultant, or who has been an NHS consultant, to report your images. Please enter your preferred radiologist on the request. Most radiologists are already set up at 9 Harley Street, and by using our webserver they can report from a remote site. If you do not enter a name we will select the most appropriate radiologist from our list.

We provide all images on a CD, which can be read on your computer with no additional software. Unlike many systems, you can download and save images to your records.

You can also access images online via our webserver. Please contact us if you would like this facility and we will be happy to provide our terms of use and to arrange for you at no charge.

How to Order Imaging

MRI, CT and plain films can be ordered in the same way. You can choose between our web based request, e-mail and a paper form.
